
In April 2021, the rates for both National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage went up.
Make sure you are paying the correct amount by following the below guidance.
The National Minimum Wage applies to anyone over School Leaving Age. To be eligible for the National Living Wage – your employee must be over 23 years old.
As of April 2021, the National Living Wage Rates are £8.91 for anyone aged 23 and over, before then, the National Minimum Rate applies.
If your employee is 21-22 years old – the minimum wage is £8.36; if they are aged 18-20 the rate is £6.56. If they are under 18 years old, the rate is £4.62, and if they are an Apprentice the rate is £4.30.
